Celebrate virtual birthdays

What’s involved

Celebrating students’ birthdays fosters a sense of community and injects excitement for students, especially in the elementary grades.

Virtual greetings for students can be sent in many different ways:

  • Sing Happy Birthday during a video class session
  • Ask students to record videos of themselves wishing the student a happy birthday and upload them to Flipgrid
  • Ask students to make signs or cards with well wishes and a picture collage, and send to the birthday student.
  • Announce the birthday student’s name over the morning announcements, and include a photo if possible.
